Kidlit Celebrates Women’s History Month

Celebrate Women’s History Month by learning about women’s history as presented in books for our children and teens. The inaugural Kidlit Celebrates Women’s History Month blogging event was launched to commemorate Women’s History Month across the kidlitosphere, the community of bloggers specializing in children’s and young adult literature.

In 2011, we are fortunate to have so many resources for our children to learn about women’s history, everything from fabulous biographical picture books about remarkable women from the past to historical novels to history books written to appeal especially to young people.

We hope the blog will help readers identify some of these resources, learn about new books on women’s history, and enjoy reflections by some distinguished authors in the field.

The blog will publish daily from March 1 through March 31st, and will feature original posts from some of the best-known award-winning authors of non-fiction for children, including Candace Fleming, Kathleen Krull, Tanya Lee Stone, and more (see list of contributors on the blog for a full listing) as well as posts by a selection of kidlit bloggers.

Sign up to follow the blog today at http://kidlitwhm.blogspot.com so you don’t miss any of the fascinating posts to be published in March!
